This is awesome. And easy. And cheap. A delicious reason to love winter.
Biltong, 250g finely grated
Mushrooms, chopped in small pieces
Beef stock, 1.5l
Nutmeg, 1 teaspoon
Coriander, 1 teaspoon
Black pepper, 10ml
Cheese, 250ml, grated
Salt to taste
Melt the butter in a pot. Add the mushrooms, nutmeg, coriander and black pepper and cook for 7 minutes.
Add the flour and mix well. Gradually add the milk and stock stirring continuously. After it’s mixed well and heated through, simmer slightly, add the cheese. Reduce heat and mix until the cheese has melted. Add the cream, stir, heat through.
Remove from heat and add the grated biltong. Stir well. Add some biltong pieces on top for garnish. Serve.
