BACON BRAAI MIELIES
Pack of Streaky Bacon
Rinse the corn and place in a microwave-proof dish.
Cover with cling-film. Microwave on 100% power for 4 minutes.
Melt your butter and add a teaspoon of Bovril/Marmite.
Spread each bacon rasher with a butter and Bovril mixture.
Wrap the rasher of bacon around the corn, putting the Bovril butter side inwards.
Spike a skewer through, to secure the bacon.
Braai over moderate coals for 10 minutes, turning often, until the bacon is crisp.
GARLIC BREAD with cheddar, peppadew and feta
French loaf of bread
Cheddar cheese, grated
Melt your butter and mix with garlic and origanum, let it cool.
Cut French loaf 5cm apart, not right through.
in the cut, add your garlic butter, grated cheese, peppadew and feta.
Add more grated cheese on top of the loaf, cover with foil and braai.
When done, you can add more grated cheese on top and grill in the oven for 3 minutes to make it crispy.
The sosaties were pre-marinated and delicious. Serve all immediately after braaing.
