Instead of a side dish, make it the star of the show.
Prep your fillet with olive oil, salt and pepper. Braai to medium rare and slice thinly.
Butter teh outside of your slices of bread. On the inside of one slice, spread some basil pesto, cheddar cheese, onion, garlic salt and pepper. Add the sliced fillet, followed by more cheddar. Optionally spread cream cheese on the inside of the other slice and a little mustard on the fillet.
Place the braaibroodjies on indirect heat on the fire and turn frequently until browned and cheese has melted.
