3 garlic cloves, crushed
1 teaspoon olive oil
2 tablespoons butter
1 1/2 tablespoons plain flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon ground mixed peppercorns
pinch of ground nutmeg/paprika
Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Add the flour and mix. Add the garlic and let it simmer while stirring for a minute or two. Add the milk. Bring to the boil and cook, stirring constantly until thickened, about 5 minutes. Season with salt, peppercorns and nutmeg or paprika.
