Mushroom, Potato & Broccoli Medley with cheese sauce

This is a kid friendly and yummy recipe for a vegetable side dish.

Whole button mushrooms, cut in half
Broccoli, broken into trees
Baby potatoes
Worcestershire sauce
Black pepper
Garlic, 1 crushed clove
Cheddar cheese, 1 cup grated
Milk, 1 cup
Mustard powder, 2 teaspoons

Cook your potatoes. Steam the broccoli until it’s a bright green.

In a small sauce pan, melt 3 table spoons of butter, add the mushrooms. Cook for 2minutes, stirring occasionally. Add a teaspoon of origanum, garlic, salt and pepper and 3 shakes of Worcestershire sauce. Simmer, stirring occasionally until sauce reduces and mushrooms are cooked.

Mix your potatoes, mushrooms with sauce and broccoli.

For the cheese sauce: Melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a small sauce pan. Add two tablespoons of flour, and stir for a minute. Add the milk and stir until milk starts boiling and sauce thickens. (Add more milk if it gets too thick) Add the cheese and stir until it melts. Add the optional mustard powder.

Serve the medley with cheese sauce on the side.
