Pepper Herb Sauce

Once you make your own pepper sauce, you’ll never use packet sauce again. It’s so easy and versatile. You can add herbs, parmesan, cheddar, whiskey, onion, hot sauce, or whatever else to experiment and make it more interesting.
This week we were a so happy about the spring creeping closer, less time was spent in the kitchen and more by the braai. This sauce is great for the pepper steak lover.
INGREDIENTS
2 tablespoons ground pepper
salt to taste
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons flour
1 cup beef stock
1 cup cream
1 small onion, chopped finely
1 teaspoon garlic, crushed
dash of Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon oregano
1/2 teaspoon thyme
METHOD
Melt the butter in a sauce pan, add the onion and cook. Add the garlic and cook for a further 2 minutes. Add the flour and cook until golden in colour. Add the stock and mix well until oiling and thickening. Add your cream and stir well. Add the oregano, thyme, pepper and Worcestershire sauce and stir. Let it simmer until the desired consistency is reached. Add more cream or stock if it becomes to thick. Add salt to taste if needed.
Serve on steak or veg.
